What was thought to be the first public share offer of its type in the world, The Daily Planet Limited lodged a prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission in late November 2002 with a plant to list on the Australian Stock Exchange in early 2003.
Following the successful completion of the public share offer, The Daily Planet Limited was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 1st May 2003.
The Daily Planet Limited became the registered proprietor and landlord of the property at 7-12 Horne Street Elsternwick and leased the property to Daily Planet Australia Pty. Ltd., the operator of the world famous bordello, The Daily Planet.
The Board identified a number of potential acquisition targes as part of its strategy to expand the Companys operators. As a result of these investigations the Board secured a very exciting opportunity to acquire the business and freehold of Showgirls Bar 20 at 46 King Street Melbourne and the property and business settled in September 2003.
Early 2006 the company took on an interest of 50% in the Royal Melbourne Hotel, situated at 629 Bourke Street, Melbourne.
